Kellie J Hollister

Kellie J. Hollister, age 42 of Elk Mound, passed away peacefully in her home on November 10, 2010 surrounded by her loving family after fighting a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Kellie was born June 28, 1968 at home in Eau Claire County. She was the daughter of Jerold and Geraldine Steinberg. Kellie was raised in Eau Claire and graduated with honors in 1986 from Eau Claire North High School. She graduated from with honors in 1988 from Chippewa Valley Technical College with an associate degree in police science. Kellie married Rick Hollister on May 7, 1994 in Eau Claire.

Kellie worked as a Dispatcher and Correctional Officer for Dunn County from 1988 until 1995. She worked as an E911 telecommunitcator for Dunn County from 1995 until 1998. Kellie also worked various divisions as a Deputy Clerk at the Dunn County Clerk of Courts Office from 1998 until 2009, when she was forced to retire due to progression of the disease.

Kellie had a gift fro making everyone around her feel comfortable and loved. She was an inspiration to so many and taught us how to cherish each day to the fullest. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping and four-wheeling. Her greatest love was spending time with her children and husband. Kellie enjoyed teaching Sunday school and watching the 3 to 5 year olds grow and blossom. She had a love for nature and bird watching. Prior to he disease, Kellie enjoyed sewing and ceramics. In her young adulthood, she enjoyed going to stock car races and dancing the night away.

Kellie is survived by her loving husband, Rick, three beautiful children, Kaitlin, Alexander and Isabella, all at home, mother, Geraldine Hoople, mother-in-law, Patricia (Gary) Tollefson, grandmother, Ardell Hepfler, five sisters, Deborah (Patrick) Karker, Phoebe (Billy) Meyers, Patricia (Dennis) Steinberg , Mary (James) Lokrantz and Janna Burgess, three brothers, Marlin “Pete” Anderson, Mark Anderson and Jim (Sue) Steinberg, , sister-in-law, Hollie (Chris Seymour) Hollister, two brothers-in-law, Michael (Corrina) Hollister and Buck (Hali) Hollister, grandmother-in-law, Beulah Hollister, best friend, Connie (Steve) Hollingsworth, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, the Share The Care “Lean on Me” family, her family pets, Jesse, Maggie and her “guard dog” Lexi.

Kellie is preceded in death by her father, Byron Hoople, birth father (who passed away from ALS) Jerold Steinberg, two brothers, Michael Anderson and Michael (Bonnie) Steinberg, two sisters, (who passed away from ALS) Barbara Onstad and Diane Steinberg, grandmother-in-law, Doreen Schultz, nephew, (who passed away from ALS) Sean Knutson, several other nieces, nephews and beloved pets, Boozer, Skeeter, Gizmo and Bailey.
