Rinda M Kassera
Rinda Marie Kassera age 60 of rural Spring Valley,
Died: Monday November 8, 2010 at the Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.
Rinda was born August 1, 1950 in Menomonie; she was the daughter of Jack and Marlys (Cropp) Bowell. As a young child she moved with her family to the San Jose California area. She graduated from high school in San Jose in 1968 and attended one year at San Jose State University before transferring to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where she graduated 1972.
Rinda began her career as a phone operator in San Jose for several years before transferring to the Eau Claire office where she worked as a long distance operator, retiring in 1991. Rinda married Roger Kassera August 27, 1983 at St. John’s Lutheran Church-Hatchville. After marriage they made their home in rural Spring Valley on the Kassera home farm.
Rinda enjoyed making cakes for all of her family’s celebrations, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, etc. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Rinda also volunteered many hours at the Elmwood Schools while her children attended school.
Rinda is survived by her husband, Roger; four children, James (Jenny) of Albert Lea, MN; Peter, Daniel and Lisa all at home in Spring Valley; two grandchildren, Japheth and Margret Kassera; her mother Marlys Bowell of Elmwood; three sisters, Virginia (Steve) Geraets of Elmwood; Shirley Smith of Menomonie; Carla (Bruce) Podoll of Spring Valley; several nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son Pat in infancy and her father, Jack Bowell.
