Mildred F Berger
Mildred F. Berger age 89 of Durand, formerly of Salem Township, Kenosha County,
Died peacefully on Saturday September 25, 2010 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand with her family at her side
Mildred was born march 30, 1921 at home in the Township of Waterville, Big Arkansaw Valley. She was the daughter of William and Margaret “Bessie” (LaPean) Keeler. She grew up in the Arkansaw area and graduated from the Arkansaw High School. Mildred married Fred Berger October 7, 1941 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Arkansaw. They moved to Kenosha County in July of 1951 where Mildred worked at various places helping to support her family. In 1976 they returned to the Arkansaw valley where Mildred worked as a dietary cook at the Plum City Nursing Home for many years until retiring. In 1981 Fred passed away and in 1996 she married Raymond Berger. After marriage they resided in Durand for the rest of her life. Ray died in 2007 and for the past three years she has resided at the Home Place Assisted Living in Durand.
Mildred is survived by seven children, Judy (Gary) Amidon of Mondovi; Roger (Brenda) of Twin Lakes; Dean (Jonine) of Durand; Darrell (Rhonda) of Durand; Janet (Wayne) Brunner of Arkansaw; Neil (Kelly) of Menomonie; Gloria Berger of Cadott; 24 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret “Peg” Glaus of Eau Galle; Isabel Berger of Eau Claire; three brothers, Bill (Jane) Arkansaw; Bernard (Doris) Keeler of Red Wing, MN; Philip (Evelyn) Keeler of Lakeland, MN; a half sister Marie Ingalls of Minnesota; two step brother, Warren Patnode of Durand; Giles Patnode of Brooklyn Park, MN; two step sisters, Gwelda Glaus of Durand; Fern Ingalls of Remer, MN;
Several step children, Jerry, Ron, Bill, Wayne, Kathy, Mary.
She is preceded in death by parents, her husbands, Fred and Ray; a son Richard; a sister Ruth Klein; and a step son Stanley.
