LaVerne H Zeilinger
LaVerne H. Zeilinger age 83 of Menomonie, formerly of the Elmwood area, died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie from health care problems the last four years.
LaVerne was born November 15, 1926 in the Arkansaw area. He was the son of Julius and Mayme (Bauer) Zeilinger. LaVerne farmed all of his life in the Rock Elm Township of rural Elmwood. LaVerne married Marjorie Brehm on September 10, 1952 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie. They continued to farm until retiring. In November of 2001 they moved to Menomonie, where LaVerne remained the rest of his life.
LaVerne loved turning the soil and planting his crops for the year. He was very good with his cows and pigs. In retirement, LaVerne and Marjorie traveled out west and vacationed in Arizona. LaVerne also enjoyed hunting with his friends. Most of all, LaVerne loved to spend time with family and friends.
LaVerne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie, two children, Michael (Joyce) Zeilinger of Plum City and Karleen Zeilinger of Eau Claire, two grandsons, Jonathan (Kayla) Zeilinger and Mathew (Ashley Hinnrichs) Zeilinger, both of Plum City, two great grandchildren, Dylan Zeilinger and Addison Zeilinger (to be born any day), two sisters-in-law, Mary Crosby of New Richmond and Lorraine Zeilinger of Durand, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his twin sisters, Lorraine Ebensperger and Laura Zeilinger and one brother, Richard Zeilinger.
