Brent M. “Chaz” Bauer, age 44, of Durand

Died: January 5, 2008 at his home, peacefully, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer
Brent was the son of Eugene and Dolly (Weiss) Bauer. He was born and raised in Durand, where he attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Durand High School in 1982. After high school, he attended CVTC in Eau Claire. He then worked in the Hudson area for five years as a realtor. In 1990, he became the superintendent of the Durand Golf Course, which later became Durand’s Rolling Greens Golf Course. In 1997, he became the owner and operator of the golf course, which he managed until his death. Brent married Georgia Cole on October 22, 1988 in Port Washington.
Brent had a love of basketball, from playing to coaching, and simply just watching his boys play. In addition to his love of basketball was his love for golf and hunting. He also was a loyal Packer fan. “Chaz” enjoyed watching sports and mostly teaching the fundamentals of not only sports, but many of life’s values. He led by example and lived by his faith.
Brent is survived by his wife, Georgia, three sons, Baxter, 17, Cole, 15, and Isaiah, 11, his mother, Dolly Bauer of Durand, two sisters, Cheryl (Eric) Harmon of Baldwin, Amy (Steve) Rohrscheib of Eau Claire, four brothers, David (Lynn) of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Tim (Lori) of Rock Falls, Ted (Cathy) of New Richmond, and Brad (Kim) of Eau Claire, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Bauer, a niece, Christina Bauer Weissinger.
