Ruth E Pax
Ruth E. Pax age 92 of Baldwin, died Saturday, January 23 2010 at the Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN surrounded by her family.
Ruth was born on April 24, 1917 to Martin and Ida (Wolske) Labs in the Weston Township of rural Menomonie. She was baptized in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Menomonie and confirmed there on March 12, 1932. Ruth married Theodore Pax on December 21, 1935. Ruth and Ted lived in the Lucas and Weston Townships, where they farmed and raised seven children. Ruth also word as a cook at several different cafes and retired from the Sanna Dairies in 1977. After retirement, they moved to the Township of Eau Galle, rural Baldwin, St. Croix County, where she remained the rest of her life.
Ruth’s family was her whole life, she was always working hard to keep the pantry and freezers full, so she could share her canned and frozen goods from her and Ted’s big gardens that they liked to tend to. When they were on the farm, Ruth had to take care of the chickens, turkeys and ducks, as she got older and couldn’t raise them anymore; she wanted something to care for, so she had cats, cats and more cats! If you came over to visit, which Ruth loved company, you better sit down and have a cup of coffee and something to eat.
Ruth and Ted spent some of their winters in Florida in their 5th wheeler by Jeanene and her family. They also lived up in Lewis by Della and Minard and Ted Jr. and Shirley for a few years.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Della (Minard) Anderson of Lewis and Jeanene Longwood of Dade City, FL, five sons, Ted Jr. (Shirley) of Lewis, Phillip (Suzan) of Wilson, Don of Baldwin, Arlyn (Kay) and Irv (Betty), both of Menomonie, 25 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 63 great great grandchildren and eight great great great grandchildren, and she will be greatly missed b her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ted (1998), three sisters, Alice Kraft, Agnes Peterson and Della Labs and six grandchildren.
