Robert F Spindler
Robert F. Spindler, age 83 of Menomonie, died suddenly on Wednesday December 26, 2007 at his home, after a wonderful Christmas Day with his family.
Robert was born April 23, 1924 in Durand. He was the son of Joseph and Vivian (Blair) Spindler. Robert grew up in Spring Valley and graduated from Spring Valley High School. After high school, Robert joined the Navy and was stationed in Hawaii during WWII. Robert married Mary Wedam October 26, 1946 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie. They lived their entire life here in Menomonie. After marriage, Robert went to work for Sanna Dairies in Menomonie, retiring as the plant supervisor. In his retirement, Robert spent many years driving school bus for the Menomonie School District.
Robert enjoyed Packer and Notre Dame Football and spending time with his family and friends. He was also a member of St. Joseph’s Knights of Columbus. We will miss our fun loving husband, father and grandfather.
Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary, two daughters, Coleen (Dennis) Simpson and Becky (Mark) Nelson, both of Menomonie, one son Patrick of Minneapolis, MN, six grandchildren, Jason (Michelle) Simpson, Jeff (Autumn) Simpson, Steven (Nicole) Schaefer, Mandy (Scott) Wolbert, Michael and Adam Spindler, eight Great Grandchildren, Morgan, Mark, Sydney, Sierra, Matthew, Lucas, Gunner and Steele. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joseph and Ralph Spindler.
The family would like to thank House Calls for all of the loving care they have provided Robert over the last couple years, especially Joy, Louella, Kay and Tammy.
