Marie B. Mense, age 76 of Menomonie, died Friday, July 17, 2009 at her home in Menomonie surrounded by the love and support of her family.
Marie was born on April 19, 1933 at home in St. AmBroise, Manitoba Canada. She was the daughter of Alexandre and Gilelmin Rose (Ducharme) Flamand. Marie grew up in St. AmBroise and attended school there. Marie met and married Fred Mense on February 28, 1957 in Menomonie. After marriage, Marie and Fred made their home in Menomonie and Marie stayed at home to raise her family.
Marie had a great love for music and loved to play her guitar, she also loved to go to thrift sales and collect antique jewelry. She was a devote catholic her entire life and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and was a very active member. Most of all, she loved to spend time with family and friends.
Marie is survived by her husband of 52 years Fred, one daughter, Diane (Dave) Larson of Menomonie, two sons, Alex (special friend Jill) of Madison and Marcel of Menomonie, one grandson, Andy Larson of Menomonie, three sisters, Dora St. Goddard, Emma Lang and Linda Paul, two brothers, George (Marie) Flamand and Marcel (Leona) Flamand, all of Canada, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Delia Moggie, Elmira Ricard and Leona Hill and three brothers, Bob, Edward and Oza Flamand.
