Alger R Gunderson
Alger R. Gunderson, age 64, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the Potter’s Country Home in Menomonie.
Alger was born March 13, 1945 in Eleva. He was the son of Theodore and June (Schultz) Gunderson. Alger grew up in the Eleva area and graduated from Eleva-Strum in 1963. After high school, he and his brother Don owned and operated Gunderson Construction. For years, Alger and his family also farmed in Rock Falls. Alger married Janice Tollefson in 1965 and they later divorced. Alger enjoyed helping make lefse with his parents and his brother Barry. Since 2003, Alger has been a resident of Potter’s Country Home in Menomonie.
Alger is survived by his two sons, Troy (Traci) of Arkansaw and Tony (Tess) of Durand, five grandchildren, Tyler, Ally, Bailey, Bridget and Jacob, two brothers, Dale (Juanita) Gunderson of Lake Placid, FL and Barry (Donna) Gunderson of Osseo, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Linda Gunderson and two brothers, Julius and Don Gunderson.
