Addie M Stewart
Addie M. Stewart, age 73 of Nelson, died Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Pepin Manor in Pepin.
Addie was born on October 6, 1935 on the family farm in rural Nelson. She was the daughter of Fred and Ethel (Hurlburt) Breidung. Addie grew up in the Nelson area, attended and graduated from the Nelson High School. Addie met and married Oscar Stewart Jr. of Pepin on April 4, 1955 in Wabasha, Minnesota. After marriage, they lived in rural Pepin where she was a stay at home mom and raised her children and took care of the family. After the children left the house, Addie worked a couple of various jobs in Pepin. Since August of 2008, Addie has been a resident of the Pepin Manor.
Addie loved to take care of and babysit her grandchildren who affectionately called her “Nana”, garden, read, canning, cross-stitching and playing Bunco with the ladies at church. She was a life long member of Grace Lutheran Church in Nelson and a member of the ladies group.
Addie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Oscar Jr., three sons, Duane (Sally) of Pepin, Mike (Lilia) of Reno, NV and John (Joyce) of Stockholm, seven grandchildren, Leah, Alisha, Larry, Amy, Misty, Candy and Beau, seven great grandchildren, two brothers, Fred Breidung of Nelson and David (Judy) Breidung of Pepin, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Randy.
