Lucy I. Owen, age 83 of Nelson
Born: March 27, 1926 went to be with the Lord, June 27, 2009 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire surrounded by her family.
Lucy was the daughter of Henry and Agnes (Berger) Brion. She was born and raised on Maxville Prairie, Buffalo County, rural Durand. Lucy married LaVerne Owen October 20, 1947. After marriage, they lived and farmed on Owen Valley Road, Town of Canton, Buffalo County, rural Nelson, where she remained the rest of her life.
Lucy will be remembered for her love of her family. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, and phone calls to her many special friends. She especially enjoyed her cat, “Sugar” and dog, “Sonny.” She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Lucy is survived by her husband of over 61 years, LaVerne, six daughters, Joan Traun of Durand, Joyce (Kirk) Keenlyne of Elmwood, Mary (Chuck) Noll of Mondovi, Carol (Joe) Giem of Kellogg, MN, Linda Owen (Tom Mueller) of Eau Galle, Lori Owen of Nelson, one son, Lee Owen of Eau Claire, 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three sisters, Helen Wittig of Plum City, Henrietta Guillaume of Caledonia, MN, Agnes (Jerry) Martin of Plainview, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Louis and Francis Brion and one son-in-law, Charlie Traun.
