Sandra R. Roberts

Sandra R. Roberts

Sandra “Sandy” R. Roberts of Menomonie died after a two-week battle with influenza on March 7th, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Sandy was born in Menomonie, Wisconsin on December 28, 1959, to Robert W. Frank and Betty M. Frank (Styer). She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1977, then attended District One Technical Institute (Chippewa Valley Technical College) and received her LPN degree. Sandy began her nursing career at the VA Hospital in Tomah. She later worked with Dr. Charles Ihle in Eau Claire at both his family orthopedic practice and Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire. Sandy furthered her career at various VA clinics and skilled nursing facilities in Wisconsin.

Before the days of solid-color dress codes, Sandy was known for wearing bright, colorful scrubs to work. She'd even try to match her earrings, reader glasses and socks to her scrubs. It was said she could wear a different outfit every day for months, without repeating a look. Sandy enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening and baking Christmas cookies. She had a true green thumb with both houseplants and her flower garden. Her baking season began immediately after Thanksgiving. She'd spend weeks baking over fifteen different recipes, store the cookies in her garage and compile massive platters for friends and family for Christmas. Though she worked a demanding job and had many hobbies she enjoyed, her greatest joy was being a mother.

Sandy is survived by two children, Kacie Roberts of River Falls and Lindsey Klecker of Eau Claire; her mother, Betty Frank of Menomonie; three siblings, Sherry (Pete) Nimmo of Menomonie, Allan (Gigi) Frank of Menomonie, and Lisa (Stefanie) Alfonso-Frank of Tacoma Park, MD along with several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert W. Frank.

Sandy was a strong, loving, and caring person with a thoughtful and generous heart. She will be missed dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday March 26, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie.

Sometimes there are no words to truly express the feelings when there is a great loss. Sandy has been on my mind all the years since LPN school. To quote 2 Timothy 4:7.
Sandy honestly could say, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race.” And I know, “she kept the faith!” God be with you all. You are free and enjoying the 2200 acres you are allotted in your home. Plant those beautiful flowers for God! Love always.
