William R "Bill" Weldon
William Robert “Bill” Weldon passed away at his home with his family by his side at the age of 74 on January 21,2025 after a battle with cancer. Bill was born on July 28, 1950 to Robert and Madolyn (Anderson) Weldon in Plum City, Wisconsin.
Bill was united in marriage on June 7,1975 to JoAnn Glaus. Bill and JoAnn were blessed with two children, Rob and Emily and their children.
Bill grew up and spent his entire life in Plum City, attending Plum City Elementary and Plum City High School. After high school graduation, he attended Eau Claire Barber College and received a degree as a Licensed Barber. He worked as a Barber in Eau Claire until 1974 when purchased the Corner Bar in Plum City. He owned and operated this business known as Bill’s Corner Bar until 1982. At that time, he went to work for Ed Phillips and Sons as an on the road salesman. Bill was also employed by Glaus Construction and Wieser Concrete before going to work for Pierce County Highway Department. He retired from Pierce County in 2013.
Bill was a member of the Plum City Town of Union Volunteer Fire Department for 53 years. He was a dedicated member of the department and took his service to heart. He enjoyed interacting with other departments by attending fundraisers, parades and water fights. Many friends were made through this dedicated service.
His greatest passion over the past 18 years, was spending time at Whitetail Ridge Campground where he was known as “Uncle Bill”. He enjoyed taking rides on his UTV and sitting around a campfire with the many friends acquired over the years. Bill could strike up a conversation with anyone and became a friend to all.
Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, JoAnn, son Rob (Trish) of Somerset, WI and daughter Emily (Deric) Lindstrom of Durand, WI and his grandchildren: Julie, Breck and Eva Weldon, Will and Noah Gruber, Ethan, Landen and Mason Lindstrom, one brother James (Louise) Weldon and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Madolyn Weldon.
A celebration of life will be held at Molly’s on Main in Plum City, WI on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm.
