Betty A Plummer

Betty A. Plummer, age 90, of Durand, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at her home. She was surrounded by the love of her family in her final days.

Betty was born on November 18, 1934, the youngest daughter of Edward and Maude Hartung. She graduated from Durand High School and attended Eau Claire Business College. Betty began her professional career with the Minnesota Mining Company before returning to Durand. There, she worked at the Pepin County Courthouse, where she met the love of her life, George. They were married on September 6, 1958.

Betty and George were blessed with four children: Sam of Durand, WI, Tom (Sally) of rural Menomonie, WI, Tim (Paula) of West Concord, MN, and Sarah (Greg) of rural Arkansaw, WI. Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and she loved spending time with her family.

Betty had a passion for many hobbies, including reading, gardening, and traveling. She was a phenomenal cook and baker, always eager to try new recipes. Betty retired in 1999 after four decades of service primarily focused on agriculture. She was most proud of her work as the Pepin County Land Conservationist. Her work made a lasting impact on the community, and she was known for her dedication and expertise.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George; her parents, Edward and Maude; and her eight siblings.
