David A Gerdes
David A Gerdes, age 81 of Nelson, died Sunday, December 29, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Care Center in Wabasha, MN.
Dave was born on June 16, 1943 in Worthington, MN. He was the son of Walter and Leona (Jennings) Gerdes. He met Bonnie O’Brien and they married on November 8, 1963. Together they had two daughters. Bonnie and David have lived in Nelson since the late 1980’s. Dave with his wife Bonnie were involved in Dave Gerdes Ministries for the better part of 40 years. Dave enjoyed fellowship and a good cup of coffee with family and friends.
Dave is survived by two daughters; Lona Bea (Chuck) Thomas of Baltimore, MD and LeNae Mae (Chris) Markham of Lake City, MN, five grandchildren; Tyler, Caleb, Carrianna, Bronson and Carli, 15 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Bonnie and two sisters, Linda and Lola.
Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand. Burial will be in the Maiden Rock Cemetery in Maiden Rock at a later date. Visitation will be held from 12:00PM Noon until time of services at the funeral home on Saturday.
Following the service, there will be a light luncheon at the Orton Room at the Corral Bar and Grill in Durand from 2:00pm-4:00PM.
