Willard E Johnson
Willard E. Johnson, age 90 of Plum City, passed away to his heavenly home on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at AdventHealth-Durand.
Willard was born in Plum City, the son of Elmer and Anna (Inabnit) Johnson. After finishing school, he assisted his father in the carpentry business for many years. Willard was drafted into the U.S. Army and served as a firefighter in France from 1957-1959. Upon his return home he worked at Unipress Company and at FMC in Minneapolis as a machine and drill press operator. In 1971, Willard bought and operated an auto repair/gas station in Bay City. In 1981, he started an engine-building/auto repair business in Plum City and later moved the business to his home. There wasn’t much that he couldn’t build or repair.
Willard was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plum City, and attended Immanuel throughout his lifetime. He was a kind, quiet and patient man. Willard enjoyed fishing, hunting turkeys and other wild game and especially loved bow hunting Whitetail Deer, and had some in the record books. Willard kept busy with gardening, snow-plowing, yardwork and mowing along with his shop work. He enjoyed going to garage sales, auctions and visiting with his relatives.
Willard is survived by his sister-in-law, Pearl Johnson; nieces and nephews, Cynthia (Randy) Przybilla; James (Valerie) Johnson; Jenny (Matt) Benusa; Emily Stone; Marjorie (Larry) Jacobs; Susan (Dubbie) Freitag; Alan (Jenny) Gleiter; Beatrice Gleiter and Sandra (Bill) Boettcher, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Beatrice Johnson and Marie Gleiter; brother, Norman Johnson and brother-in-law, Alvin Gleiter.

Memorial Services will be 11:00AM Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Immanual Lutheran Church in Plum City with Rev. Dan Pfaffe officiating. Burial will be in the Free Home Cemetery in Plum City. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the time of services at the church on Thursday.
