Patrick T Schuh

Patrick “Pat” T. Schuh died with family at his side after a brief battle with lung cancer on August 10th, 2024 at 5:40 am at Mayo Clinic Health System Red Cedar in Menomonie, Wisconsin. It was a beautiful sunny morning when he met God face to face.

Pat was born on March 17th, 1948 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Roman and Clara (Komro) Schuh. He was raised and worked on the family farm and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Lima Wisconsin in 1966. Pat served in the United States Air Force as an air policeman and was honorably discharged in 1967. He returned home to help on the family farm. He did electrical work, worked at the Eau Claire paper mill for 7 years, and the Dunn County Highway Department for 26 years. Upon retirement, he continued to work as a CDL state examiner, and Truck Driver Training instructor at Chippewa Valley Technical College. In 2001, he married the love of his life and soulmate. They shared 23 years of marriage and happiness.

Pat was a God- fearing man of great faith, with a devotion to the Blessed Mother. He frequently said the rosary and carried one with him. He was an active member of St. Joseph parish, served as an altar server and was involved in the Knights of Columbus. He also loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed teaching others how to do so as well. Pat was selfless, and always thought of helping and taking care of others first. He is loved and will be greatly missed by many friends and family.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the excellent care provided by Jamie and the team at Mayo Clinic cancer center, Miranda and the team at Mayo Clinic Hospice, and especially his nurses Lisa and Brittany who provided exemplary and compassionate end of life care. We are most grateful for them all.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Clara, brother Roman Jr. (Sonny) and sisters Mary Lou Hurlburt and Vicki Klever. He is survived by the love of his life, Nancy (Brantner) Schuh of Eau Claire, WI,  son Benjamin Schuh of Chippewa Falls, WI, step-son Adam (Stefanie) Brantner and granddaughter Ella Brantner of Prescott, WI, step-daughter Amy (Brantner) Wilson (Travis) of Albuquerque, NM,  grandson Morgan Brantner of Culver City, CA, granddaughter Johanna Kuhn of Albuquerque, NM, brothers Bob (Myrna) Schuh of Soldotna, AK, John (Jo Marie) Schuh of Eau Claire, WI, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM Saturday, August 17, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rock Falls with Rev. Timothy Welles celebrating. Military Honors will follow the Mass provided by the Mondovi American Legion Post #154. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the time of services at the church on Saturday.

Pat was a very special brother, loving and caring for anyone he met. We had many fun trips hunting and fishing trips
together in Ontario, Wyoming and Minnesota. He was an expert card player and usually came out on the winning team. He had a very strong
faith and believed in miracles. Our family will truly miss him

  5. Nadine

This saying helped when members of my family died.
( When a loved one goes on a long trip we sadly say, ''GOODBYE''
    BUT
on the other side they are joyfully shouting, ''Hello, Welcome- HERE HE COMES''
