Norbert J. Stewart, age 78 of Durand, died Thursday, July 25, 2024 at AdventHealth in Durand surrounded by his family.
Norbert was born on April 27, 1946 in Durand. He was the son of Andrew and Marjorie (Smith) Stewart. Norbert grew up in Durand and graduated from Durand High School. After high school, Norbert joined the U.S. Air Force where he served stateside until being honorably discharged. Norbert married Marietta Brantner, together they had five children and later divorced. Norbert had a passion for the outdoors and built a career in logging until his health forced him to retire. Norbert married Sally Anibas on January 20, 1996 and gained eight additional children.
Norbert enjoyed tending to his lawn and garden at home. He was always doing something with his hands and doing construction, building a home and remodeling his current home.
Norbert is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sally; children, Eric (Carolyn) Stewart of St. Cloud, MN; Christine (Tyler) Quandt of Red Wing, MN; Vanessa (Jeff) Stewart-Knoll of Cadott; Mathew (Fiancé Barb Fedie) of Mondovi; Leana (Jesse Richardson) Stewart of Arkansaw; Carrie (Chris) Lindstrom of Durand; Kathy Bernhardt of Eau Claire; Chris Anibas of Osseo; Brenda Berg of Little Rock, AR; Jon (Karyn) Anibas of Eau Claire; Todd (Renee) Anibas of Durand and Amy (Mark Kollmansberger) Anibas of Waupun; 36 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, brothers, LaVerne of Eau Claire; Don (Karene) of New Lisbon; Allen (Kara) of Clearwater, MN and Delbert (Connie) of Ridgeland, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by parents, grandson, Collin Stewart; daughter, Debbie Larson and one brother, Bernard Stewart.
Prayer Services will be 3:30PM Tuesday July 30, 2024 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand. Visitation will be from 4:00PM-7:00PM at the funeral home in Durand. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday July 30, 2024 at 7:00PM at the Orton Room at the Corral Bar and Grill in Durand.
