Robert W Bogert

Robert William Bogert, age 81, of Durand passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 10, 2024.

Robert was born September 29, 1942 in Montclair, New Jersey.  He was the son of Wilmer & Edna Bogert.  Robert graduated from Hanover Park High School in East Hanover, New Jersey in 1960.  After high school, he served in the Air Force from 1960-1964. He met his wife, Darlene (Halbleib) in 1970, they married in 1972 and started their family in Sun Prairie, WI. Robert and Darlene moved to Durand to take over the family business, the Durand Bakery in 1983 and have run it together since. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and his yearly trips to New York to visit his brother and family.  He also had a love for trains and model airplanes.  He also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino.

Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Darlene of Durand; his children Martin Munson of Spring Valley; Shelly (Mike) Barker of Dodge Center, MN; and Debbie Bogert (Pete Larson) of Nelson, WI.

Grandchildren Michael Britt, Randy Britt, Mason (Chelsea Lasker) Barker, Alex (Meg Vandehey) Munson, Tyler (Hannah) Munson, and Devon Larson.  Brother Richard (Edie) Bogert of Clifton Park, NY. 

Robert is proceeded in death by his parents Wilmer & Edna Bogert.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00pm-7:00PM Friday, June 21, 2024 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand.
