Francis L Webb
Francis Lloyd Webb, age 93, of Eau Galle passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Advent Health Durand, surrounded by his family.
Francis was born March 3,1931 at home outside of Eau Galle WI the son of Lloyd and Catherine (Fedie) Webb. He attended grade school at St Henry’s Parochial School, Eau Galle, high school at Durand. At the age of 12 he developed a bone infection called osteomyelitis which left him bed ridden for 2 years and caused impaired growth in his left hip area.
Francis married Ruby Ritzman on May 3, 1952 at St Henry’s Catholic Church, Eau Galle, WI. Together they enjoyed going to Polka Fest’s, entertaining at many nursing home facilities, and spending time with family and friends.
Francis enjoyed squirrel hunting, fishing and carpentry with his father. At an early age he acquired the taste of playing the accordion and concertina, and later operated an accordion/concertina repair shop. He was a jack of all trades and quite knowledgeable on cars and built and designed many projects during his employment at Richline.
Francis’s work endeavors included at Bucryrus Erie where they lived in Milwaukee, WI for 6 months, and a janitor for Glenwood City School. A move to the Twin Cities for 4 years, where he started work at Minnesota Rubber. In 1959 they moved back to Eau Galle, where he commuted to Mendota Heights MN until retirement in 1996 from Cherry Richline
Francis is survived by 2 daughters, Debra Graham, and Cheryl (Stan) Bemis, both of Elmwood 1 son Michael (Dee) of Spring Valley. 4 Grandchildren, Josh, Shane (Arika), Travis (Kara), David (Emily), 8 great-grandchildren. Sierra, Sophia, Wyatt, Kaylina, Lillian, Ava, Skylar, Kye. 3 sisters, Bernadine Bechel, Beverly Fuhrman, Rita Hoffmann. 1 brother-in-law Robert (Marcia) Ritzman. 3 step brother/sisters, John Buhlman, Rose Gibson, Bethley Zakrzewski. Many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruby, infant son Joseph Ralph, infant daughter Pamela Marie, parents, Lloyd and Catherine Webb/Buhlman, step-father Leo Buhlman, sister Rose Coleman, brothers Thomas Edward, Joseph John, and several in-laws.
Memorial Mass will be 11:00AM Thursday, May 16, 2024 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Eau Galle with Rev. Jerry Hoeser. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM-7:00PM Wednesday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
