Kathleen P (Breunig) Scholz
Kathleen P. (Breunig) Scholz, age 88 of Plum City, passed away May 31, 2009 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.
Kathleen was born on October 1, 1920, the daughter of Jacob and Ida (Fritz) Breunig of Durand. She grew up in the “little stone house” on 4th Ave W in Durand and graduated from the Durand High School in 1938. On April 12, 1939, Kathleen married Edward Scholz at St. John’s Catholic Church in Plum City. For most of their working life, they owned and operated a milk hauling business, supplying milk to the Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery. Kathleen was actively involved in the business as well as being an excellent homemaker, devoted wife, loving and supportive mother and grandmother. Kathleen was an active member of the Ladies Organizations of her church. Kathleen and Ed lived in Plum City, Ellsworth and later moving to Baldwin in 1990. Since July 2004, Kathleen has been a resident of the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.
Kathleen enjoyed spending time with family a friends, her beloved dogs and fishing with Ed.
Kathleen is survived by her sons, Durwood (Arla) of Webster and Dwight “Jack” (Judi) of Barnes, six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward and her two sisters, Burneta Erickson Johns and Donna Breunig.
