Jean M. McDonough

Jean M. McDonough, daughter of Paul and Kathryn (Webb) Harmon born on September 7, 1937, in Plum City and died on March 7, 2024 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City, WI with her family by her side.

Jean grew up in the area and graduated from Arkansaw High School.  She married Stanley Kern in December 1955 and moved to Minnesota where they raised their family.  Jean worked at State Farm and then Target.  Jean’s husband, Stanley, passed away December 15,1980.  Shortly after Stanley’s death, she moved back to the area where she met and married Wayne "Slim" McDonough, Jr., on May 7th, 1982.  Together they raised a beautiful blended family.    Jean worked for Weiss Realty in Durand and also served as the Plum City Clerk Treasurer for many years.

Jean is survived by her husband, Wayne "Slim" McDonough Jr. of 41 years; children Kevin (Sue) Kern of Eau Galle,

Shelly (Alan) Anderson of Arkansaw, Paul (Donna) McDonough of Plum City.  Sisters, Jann (Gene) Olson of Pepin, Sabrina/RuthAnn (Jay) Gold of Madison, Brother, Steve (Connie) Harmon of Elk Mound.  Sister-in-laws, Judy Kern of St Paul MN, Joyce Grochowski of Arkansaw, Marlene Baker of Plum City , Sandy (Brad) Haycraft of Prior Lake, MN and Brother-in-law Tom (Lori) McDonough of Plum City.

She is further survived by 14 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Kathryn; husband, Stanley; Son, Brian; Sister, Carole Harmon; Brother, Frank Harmon; Brother-in-Laws, Dennis Kern, Bert Grochowski and Bill Baker.

Jean was a kind, loving, fun spirited red head who will be missed by many!

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday March 15, 2024, at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand with visitation one hoour prior to the services.  Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Plum City.  A Celebration of Life will follow the burial services at Molly’s on Main in Plum City.
