Constance "Connie" S. Larson

Constance “Connie” Schlosser Larson, 70, died peacefully at her home, in the Township of Spring Brook, Dunn County, surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday July 12, 2023.

Connie was born to Francis “Bud” and Katherine (Hartung) Schlosser on November 12, 1952 in Durand, WI. She graduated from Durand High School in 1970. Connie received her teaching degree from UW-LaCrosse in 1974 and her master’s degree from UW-Eau Claire in reading in 1999. She dedicated 36 years of her life to teaching.

On December 27, 1999, she married Gary Larson of Elk Mound. She retired in 2010 and enjoyed quilting, golfing, fishing and traveling; she was excellent at everything she did.

Connie is survived by her husband, Gary; children Margaret (Joe) Axe of Blaine, MN, Joshua (Molly) Carlisle of Aurora, CO, Jacob (Jami) Carlisle of Fort Moore, GA, and Elizabeth (Michael) Mazanet of Minneapolis, MN; stepson Kyle Larson of Elk Mound, WI; eight grandchildren Crystal, Vincent, Cooper, William, Samuel, Colin, Claire, Landon; great-granddaughter Ximena; siblings, Mary (George) Raupp, Daniel (Debbie) Schlosser, Linda Wells, Rebecca (Daryl) Olson, Katherine (Charles) Stori, Steve (Laurie) Schlosser, Robert (Tammy) Schlosser; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, William and Michael.

The outpouring of support and prayers on her behalf of Connie was amazing and her family cannot thank you enough.

In honor of Connie’s memory, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Durand Community Library. The library holds a special place in Constance's legacy, where a statue commemorates her dedication to education and her enduring impact on the community.

In the words of Maya Angelou, "A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again." Connie’s spirit will continue to shine brightly, forever uniting us in love and remembrance.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday July 18, 2023 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Menomonie. We invite you to join us celebrating her legacy and finding solace in the memories we shared.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
