Mary Ellen A. Schwanke, age 88 of Chippewa Falls, died Friday July 7, 2023, at Our House Senior Living in Chippewa Falls.

Mary Ellen was born March 5, 1935, in the Township of Weston, rural Menomonie.  She was the daughter of Norman and Agnes (Burns) Schoenoff and grew up in Menomonie.  Mary Ellen is survived by her son, Dennis (Joanne) Marlette of Chippewa Falls; a sister, Ruth Ann Schoenoff of Menomonie and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband LaVerne; a son, Tommy Marlette; sisters, Catherine Giere, Rita Schuldt, Norma Jean Gustom and a brother, Charles Schoenoff.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday July 12, 2023, at Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie with Rev. John Mano officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Menomonie.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Wednesday.

   Cheers to a life well lived. A very smart creative lady. She loved her famiy and talked fondly of her son and sister. She was a very proud lady and enjoyed life and people to the fullest. She enjoyed her neighbors and was greatfull and appreciated all the help they gave her over the years. It was a privalege to know her and I will miss all our fun conversations and lunches and dinners and times spent together. I will miss her. Always a funny and fun time as we brained stormed life. May she rest in peace in our loving lords arms enjoying all of those who are there to meet her. Carry on Mary Ellen.. stay happy as always.
