Larry J Mountin
Larry J. Mountin, 55 of Elmwood, died Monday, March 23, 2009 at the Red Wing Health Center in Red Wing, MN surrounded by his family.
Larry was born December 24, 1953 in Redwing, MN. He was the son of LaMoine and Dorothy (Langer) Mountin and he grew up in the Elmwood area. Larry graduated from Elmwood High School in 1972. Wherever he went, Larry distinguished himself. In high school, he was valedictorian of his class and an all around good athlete. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Platteville in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He went to work for the Federal Highway Administration and lived in Wichita KS, Phoenix, AZ and finally Cheyenne, WY. In 1986, he moved with his family to Lancaster, CA and took a job with Computer Science Corporation at Edwards Air Force Base. Larry enjoyed the outdoors and spent much of his time camping, hiking, hunting and being involved in Boy Scouts and coaching baseball with his sons. He enjoyed football and loved to watch his nephews play for the Elmwood Raiders as much as he loved to watch the Packers. Of all his accomplishments in life, Larry was most proud of being a father.
He is survived by his three children, Christy of Los Gatos, CA, Adam of Elmwood and David of Vista, CA, his mother, Dorothy Mountin, his siblings Jeanne Mountin, Julie (Jerry) Hannack, Jeff (Torrie) Mountin and Tom Mountin, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded by his father, LaMoine.
