Paul J Radle
Paul Radle, age 90 of New Richmond, formerly of Elmwood, died Sunday March 8 at The Deerfield senior living community surrounded by his family.
Paul was born April 11, 1918 in Arkansaw, he was the son of William and Barbara (Jungwirth) Radle. He graduated from Arkansaw High School, and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps for several years where he developed his skills in mechanics.
Paul enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force as a volunteer in November 1941 and was honorably discharged in October 1945. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant serving in the 460th Bomb Group (Black Panthers) in Italy where he worked as an Auto Equipment and Motor Pool Mechanic. He was training in South America for the Pacific Theater when the war ended. He was an active member of the Crane-Ottman Post #207 of the American Legion for over fifty years.
Paul married Marion Berger September 16, 1947, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle, Wisconsin. They lived for a few years in Downsville, Wisconsin, and then moved to Elmwood, Wisconsin, where they made their home for almost sixty years. Paul and Marion owned and operated an auto repair business, Radle Auto Electric, for many years.
Paul is survived by his wife, Marion, two sons, Steven (Diane) of Hudson and William (fiancé Karen Engesether) of Hudson, one daughter, Nancy (Rodney Cameron) of Stillwater, Minnesota, two brothers Kenneth and Robert, both of Menomonie, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter, Kathleen, five brothers, Carl, Clarence, Bernard, Arthur and Raymond and four sisters, Agnes Roessler, Margaret Weber, Frances Berger and Doris Radle.
Paul was a caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
