Matthew A. Lechwar
Matthew Alan Lechwar, age 38, of Menomonie, WI passed away unexpectedly of unknown causes at his home on Friday, March 12, 2021
Matt was born in Joliet, IL on October 1, 1982. He was the of son Rodney and Mary (Gross) Lechwar, and attended schools in Channahon and Minooka, IL, graduating from Minooka Community High School in 2000.
He attended classes in welding at the Illinois Welding School in Romeoville, IL becoming certified in most aspects of welding. At the time of his passing, Matt was employed in a job he dearly loved with Quality Liquid Feeds (QLF) in Menomonie, WI.
This sweet, kind soul loved animals (especially his dogs) and had a special place in his heart for animal rescue. Matt loved the outdoors - fishing, biking, boating, working outside and most recently jogging. He was a huge lover of music of all kinds and he absolutely loved going to live events.
Matt was a good friend with a generous heart and people who met him were impressed by his kindness, compassion, sense of humor and extensive knowledge of baseball statistics especially when it came to his beloved Chicago Cubs.
Matthew is survived by his loving parents, Rod and Mary Lechwar of Colfax, WI, his beloved sister Katie (James) McAlevey, his nephew Owen and his niece Gracelyn of Warner Robins, GA. He is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many friends and will be deeply missed by all.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday March 27, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie. The services will be Livestreamed on the Rhiel Funeral Home Facebook Page.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
