Eileen Marie Kitchner, age 63 of Durand,

Born: January 26, 1945

Died: Monday, January 19, 2009 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand, after a courageous three year battle with cancer.

Eileen was born and raised on the family farm in Arkansaw. She was the daughter of William and Vera (Metcalf) Luther. Eileen attended and graduated from Arkansaw Schools. After high school, Eileen attended beauty school in Eau Claire. Eileen married Gary Kitchner on July 23, 1966 in Elmwood. After marriage they bought a farm and raised their family in Arkansaw. Later they retired from farming and moved to the City of Durand. Eileen was a hairdresser at the Oakview Care Center in Durand for many years and later became a CNA, she loved her work there and worked until she was unable too because of her illness.

Eileen loved to spend time and care for her family. Eileen and Gary’s home was a swinging door and gathering space for family and friends. She always had a Sunday dinner for anyone who happened to come. Eileen loved to spend time in her garden and play cards with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Eileen is survived by her husband, Gary, three sons, Terry (Angie), Troy and Tony, all of Arkansaw, six grandchildren, Tanya (Mike), Eric, Shadow, Hailey, Jalen and Jacie, one great grandson, Sean, four brothers, Lyle Luther of Plum City, Jim (Jan) Luther of Arkansaw, Bill Luther of Madison and Ed (Judy) Luther of Alma, two sisters, Lorraine Sievwright of Durand and Isabelle Benson of Cream, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Tammy Jo Unser and one brother, Bert Luther.
