Margie N. LaForte
Margie N. LaForte age 93 of Hammond, formerly of Menomonie, passed away on Friday September 25, 2020 at the Hammond Health Services in Hammond.
Margie was born April 14, 1927 in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of Edward and Naomi McDonald. At an early age she moved with her family to Wisconsin where she was raised. Margie married James LaForte January 31, 1948 in Menomonie. After marriage they lived in St. Paul for a short time before moving to the Township of Sherman. Margie and Jim raised their family of thirteen children. Margie’s faith was a very important part of her life as well as being a mother and raising her family.
Margie is survived ten daughters Jeanne LaForte of Hayward, Michele LaForte of Weyerhaeuser, Coleen (Jody) Wilke of St. Cloud, MN, Mary LaForte of Onalaska, Dawn LaForte of Hayward, Yvette (Jason) James of Menomonie, Denise Hardy of Stuart, FL, Fae LaForte of Menomonie, Josette LaForte of Menomonie, Monique LaForte of Essex, CT; three sons, Kevin (Linda) of Menomonie, Pierre of Chippewa Falls, Rene (Brenda) of Elk Mound; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James; a brother, Jack McDonald, a sister, Dorothy Knops And a grandson, Beau Gagnon.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM (noon) Friday October 2, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie with Rev. John Mano officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at the church on Friday.
