Leonard A Haglund

Leonard A. Haglund, age 86 of Elmwood, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.
Leonard was the son of Alden and Anna (Zimmerman) Haglund. He was born on May 11, 1922 and he was raised in the Pine Island Township, rural Goodhue. Leonard farmed on the home farm for many years. Leonard married Geraldine “Jeri” Strickland on December 16, 1949 in Lake City, MN. After marriage, they farmed near Lake City until 1951, when they moved to a farm in the Elmwood area and they continued to farm until 1975. Leonard also worked on the construction of the Spring Valley Dam from 1966 until 1970. After retiring from farming in 1975, he worked for Elmwood Farm Services and various other construction companies. In 1998 Leonard and Jeri moved into the Village of Elmwood, where he remained the rest of his life.
Leonard is survived by three daughters, Gayle (Bill) Bock of Palm Springs, CA, Debbie (Bill Jarmuzek) Haglund and Teri Haglund, both of Menomonie, two sons, Bruce of Arkansaw and Doug (Jean) of Elmwood, six grandchildren, Chad and Eric Bock, Hollie Wilson, Jessica Hintzman, Cory and Brent Haglund and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jeri in 2004 and his only brother Lloyd Haglund.
