Karen M. Gundlach, age 64 of Elk Mound, peacefully passed away on December 13, 2008 at the Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.
Karen was born in Prairie Farm on July 6, 1944. She was the daughter of Marvin Oscar and Ellen Johanna (Gunderson) Moen. Karen grew up in Ridgeland area graduated from the Colfax High School. On May 25, 1963, Karen Married Larry Lee Gundlach at the Hay River Lutheran Church.
Karen was the “Kare” of the LaKare House Adult Foster Care Home in Elk Mound.
Karen is survived by her husband Larry, two daughters, Beth Gundlach of Eau Claire and Sandra (Dana) Bentz of Walnut, IA, two sons Cary (Sheri) of Thorp, Dana (Steph) of New Richmond, seven grandchildren, Karyn, Baylee, Ashton, Liam, Noel, Camden and Keaton, siblings, Marlene (Tony) Krawcezski of St. Paul, Dennis (Roxy) Moen, David (Tay) Moen, both of Ridgeland, Linda (David) Kragness of Wheeler, Patti Novotney of Chippewa Falls, Gary (Linda) Moen of Prairie Farm, Cheryl (Gary) Stene, Doris (Arlen) Anderson, Marlys (Jerry) Bergeson, Thomas (Pam) Moen, Terry (Paula) Moen, all of Colfax, sisters-in-law Renee Moen, Joanne Moen and Kay Moen and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Merle, Wallace and Rodney Moen and one son-in-law, Jon Kennedy.
