Leona E Manor
Leona E. Manor, age 90 of Durand,
Born: May 21, 1918
Died: Friday, December 12, 2008 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.
Leona was the daughter of J. William and Marie (Hei) Breuning. She was born and raised in Arkansaw. She attend and graduated from Arkansaw High School. After school she worked as a nanny for Bill Wolf. Leona married Norman Manor on May 11, 1937 in St. John’s in Plum City. After marriage, they farmed for 33 years in the Spring Creek area of the Maxville Township. In 1965, Leona worked as a nurse’s aid the Hospital here in Durand, retiring about 1975. She moved to Durand, where she remained the rest of her life.
Leona was known to many people as “Goose.” She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, making dolls, gardening Little Debbie’s and touring Durand on her scooter. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Leona is survived by three daughters, Janet (Edward) Robelia of Durand, Kay (Dick) Norrish of Chaska, MN, Marge Griep of Durand, two sons Kenneth (Peggy) and Ben (Kathy) both of Durand 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, one sister, Gerry Bergo of Hager City, two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Manor and Loretta Manor, one brother-in-law, Elwood Manor many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman (1999) and one sister Winnie Bunning.
