Jerry A. Hermann “Truck” Age 61 of Durand

Died: November 27, 2008 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand

Jerry was the son of Elmer and Margaret (Reikowski) Hermann. He was born and raised in Menomonie. He graduated from Menomonie High School in 1965. Jerry played football, basketball, and baseball, lettering in all three sports.

Jerry earned a football scholarship to the University of Minnesota where he started as tackle and earned a letter for that. He returned to Menomonie for the love of his life and finished his college career at UW-Stout, playing football for two years, graduating in 1971. Jerry married Jean Kaiser June 5, 1971 in Menomonie. For a short time he owned and operated a liquor store in Durand. Jerry worked at Bauer Built in Durand for many years and really enjoyed the friends he worked with. As a hobby he owned and operated a sports card shop for a short time in downtown Durand.

Jerry was baptized, confirmed, graduated from Sunday school and was married at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie and was very proud of that. Jerry loved and was very proud of his family. He loved fishing at Lake Tainter, golfing with the boys and his Tuesday and Thursday golf crews, hunting with the boys and Roger, grilling, campfires, listening to B-95 and his oldies tape. Jerry was a very avid Gopher fan, Packer fan, and a fan of the Minnesota Twins.

Jerry is survived by his wife Jean, three children Jayme (Dan Harm) of Durand, Ted (Jess) of Chippewa Falls, Tim (Dawn Scheff) of Eau Claire, grandchildren, Karson, Lincoln and Gunnar Hermann, Jesse Harm, his mother, Margaret Hermann of Menomonie, two sisters, Kathy (Myron) Siler of Menomonie and Marlene (Dan) Walter of Lincoln, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his father Elmer.
