Dean R. Roberts
Dean R. Roberts, age 93 of Maiden Rock, formerly of Olathe, KS, died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at his son’s home in Union Township, rural Plum City, with family by his side.
Dean was born on September 3, 1924 in Cedar Rapids, NE, to Raymond and Lois (Green) Roberts. He grew up in Omaha, NE and graduated from high school there. After high school, Dean had to take three trips to the U.S. Army recruitment office to sign up to join the Army. He fought to become enlisted and serve his country rather than accept deferment because of an injury as a child. Dean served in the European Theatre as a head of supply management, working behind the lines of General George S. Patton. After four years of service, Dean was Honorably Discharged with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
Dean loved fishing and spending time with family.
Dean is survived by his Sister Annette (Roberts) Saitta of Omaha NE; sons; Richard (Sujah) Roberts of Medford, WI; Phil (Mary) Roberts of rural Plum City, WI; and Jon (Camille) Roberts of Olathe, KS.
Six Grand Children: Brad (Heather) Roberts of Prior Lake, MN, Lisa Roberts of Maiden Rock, WI., Jessica (Clayton) Bradly of Ellsworth, WI, Olivia & Clifford Roberts of Olathe, KS and Steve (Kristin) Roberts of Watertown WI.
Six Great-Grand Children; Roy, Brianna, Kendall, Marissa, Hanna and Ava. He also leaves behind many other family and friends.
Dean is proceeded is life by his loving wife Gladys and his parents.
