  17. Thom Rutherford

Dave was an amazingly strong person!!! He fought his battles with his strength, humor, and positive attitude. 14 years ago I was taking my father in law to Eau Claire for prostate treatment. As we left the back way there was this guy setting with double drip bags hanging on him, smoking a cigarette. We both commented on the site. As we passed by the guy hollered "Hey Thom". It was Dave. We had a great talk!!! Later, I heard from a friend that worked there that he only had weeks to live..... Dave had a better plan and made it happen his way, 14 years later. God Bless you Friend Dave and ALL your family!! Thom and the Rutherford Family.

Mary and I were always inspired by Dave's incredible positive love of life, family, friends, fun, and animals (the kitten under his shirt)! That attitude kept him beating the odds while living life to the fullest and inspired many other people facing cancer. Many fond memories of working with him and "gentle" George at the dairy.
