Leona M. Hewitt, age 92 of Plum City
Born: January 7, 1916
Died: October 28, 2008 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City very peacefully surrounded by her family.
Leona was the daughter of Peter and Caroline (Kannel) Klein. She was born and raised in Pierce County and attended Elmwood Schools. Leona married Cy Hewitt on February 10, 1936 in Plum City. After marriage, they farmed in the Town of Union, rural Plum City. After retiring from farming, they moved into the Village of Plum City. Leona then worked in the housekeeping department at the TAD Hospital and Care Center. She has been a resident of the Plum City Care Center since July of 2005 and her husband died August 25, 2006.
Leona enjoyed gardening, playing cards and spending time with loving family. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Leona is survived by one son, Rick (Joanne) of Plum City, five daughters, Carol (Earl) Fox of Hudson, Wanda (Morse) Hopwood of Spooner, Bonnie Hogan and Patty (Richard) Johnson both of Plum City, Debbie (Jason) Schoonover of Durand, 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, two sisters, Verneal Magner of Beloit and Donna Winkleman of Brooksville, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cy, two brothers Tom and Joe Klein, one sister Regina Larson, two sons-in-law, Bernard Brenner and Donnie Hogan, one great grandson, Shawn Lehmann and one granddaughter Carrie Fredrickson.
