Marion J. Brunner

Marion J. Brunner, age 93 of Durand, died Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.

Marion was born on May 29, 1923 in the hospital in Plum City. She was the daughter of Frank and Charlotte (Gansluckner) Poeschel. Marion grew up in the Plum City and Durand areas and graduated from Durand High School. Marion married Edmund L. Brunner on April 29, 1941 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand. After marriage, they farmed and raised their family in the Town of Durand. In 1961, Marion and Ed bought the Durand Café, also known as Fast Eddie’s. Marion and Ed operated the restaurant until retiring in 1988. Marion enjoyed working in the café meeting and talking with the people who came in while she worked the front counter.

Marion in survived by her children; Dennis (Jan) of Durand, Duane “Dewey” (Sandy) of Elk Mound and one daughter, Kathy (John) Egli of Durand, eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband; Eddie.

Funeral Mass will be 11:30 AM Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Durand with Rev. Paul Bosco officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Sunday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
