George L. Huber

George L. Huber age 82 of Menomonie, died on Thursday February 16, 2017 at his home in Menomonie.

George was born April 11, 1934 in Strasburg, ND.  He was the son of Louie and Anna (Dosch) Huber and grew up in North Dakota and attended country school.  George married Angeline Gefre on June 2, 1953 in Aberdeen, SD, to this union two children were born.  George worked as a machinist in Aberdeen until 1967 and then moved to Cottage Grove, MN.  In 1977, George and Angie purchased a mobile home park in Menomonie.  They moved to Menomonie in 1978 and operated Huber’s Mobile Home Park until they sold the business in 2006. 

After retirement, George and Angie enjoyed spending winters in Yuma, AZ since 1995.  George liked working with wood, making bird houses and various pieces of furniture for his family.  He also enjoyed his trips to Canada fishing, tending his vegetable garden in the summer.

George is survived by his wife Angie, of 63 years, two children, a daughter Theresa (Steven) Willey of Circle Pines, MN, a son George (Debra) of Stillwater, MN; three granddaughters, Alyssa, Jenae and Jessie and four great grandchildren; two brothers, Al of Poy Sippi, Clem (Sharon) of West Allis, three sisters, Christine Mastel of Aberdeen, SD, Irene Schneider of Galt, CA, Sally Benz of Poy Sippi, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Jack, Joe, Pete and Mike and a sister Marian Huber.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday February 21, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie.  Burial will be in the Christ Lutheran Church-Halvorson Cemetery in Menomonie.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

    Sorry to hear of George's passing. I lived in the Mobile Home court for many years and both George and Angie were always so friendly and helpful. I am keeping your family in my prayers
