Daniel C. Oebser, age 62 of Mondovi, died on February 2, 2017 at Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand. 

Dan was born in Menomonie, WI on April 24, 1954 to Carl and Constance (Kerg) Oebser.  He grew up on the family farm near Hatchville before living in Chippewa Falls, Menomonie, and Mondovi.

Dan was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed watching movies.  His quick smile and unique personality brought much joy to his family and friends.

Dan is survived by his mother, Constance Oebser, Menomonie; brothers Michael (Sarah) Oebser, Mounds View, MN and Richard Oebser, Woodbury, MN; sisters Rosanne (John) Schauf, Menomonie WI, Susan (Dennis) Laurila, Phillips, WI, Sally Kimbrel, Woodbury, MN, and Christine (Jeff) Vickers, Greeley, CO.  He is further survived by many nieces and nephews as well as his many special friends and caregivers in Mondovi.  He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Oebser, and a brother-in-law, Arnold Kimbrel.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 6, at 4 p.m. at Friendship Church in Mondovi with visitation at the church at 3:30.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Elmwood at a later date.

Rhiel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Durand, is serving the family.

    Am so sorry to hear of Danny's death. He was such a special person. I remember one time at your house when we had a 4-H meeting and someone gave a demonstration and he immediately got up afterward and repeated it with motions almost identical. I'm sure he was a joy to your family. God bless all of you.
