Ronald Morley Berg
Ronald Morley Berg, age 65 of Menomonie, died peacefully Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire, with his family by his side.
Ron was born on May 15, 1951 in Mondovi and he was the son of Bennie and Harriette (Dahl) Berg. Ron grew up in the Whitehall area and graduated from Whitehall High School in 1969. After high school, Ron attended Stout State University in Menomonie with a degree in Industrial Technology. Ron took a job with Lunda Construction while still at Stout State in 1971 and continued to work for Lunda Construction for 30 years. Ron married Peggy Maloney in 1975 and together they had two boys, lived in River Falls and later divorced. In February of 2010 Ron married his best friend of over 14 years, LouAnne Reger and lovingly embraced four more children. In 2001, Ron took a job with J&L Steel Erectors in Hudson where he worked as a senior project manager until he retired in 2013 due to health reasons.
Ron loved his land in Pleasantville “Morley Acres.” He enjoyed hunting, 4-wheeling, trout fishing, planting food plots and spending time with family and friends there. Ron enjoyed playing cards, traveling, watching the Green Bay Packers, and had a true passion for the outdoors.
Ron is survived by his wife; LouAnne, six children; Aaron (Ellen) of St. Thomas, Ontario, Bennie (Emily) of River Falls, Chris Thorsen of Plymouth, MN, Mike Reger of Rogers, MN, Jon (Emily) Reger of Hudson, Lacey Reger of Orlando, FL, nine grandchildren; Della, Frances, Bailey, Jack, Breven, Nala, Loften, Hunter and Colton, four siblings; Judy (John) Schaefer, Diane (Bruce) Schaefer, both of Pleasantville, his twin brother Roger (Pam) of Waukesha and Bruce (Kathy) of River Falls, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; Bennie and Harriette, step-father; Floyd Estenson and his brothers-in-law; Lee Curnow and Rocco Olson.
A Celebration of Life Funeral will be 12:00 PM Noon Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Cedarbrook Church in Menomonie with Rev. Remy Diederich officiating. Ron’s ashes will be spread at “Morley Acres” at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Wednesday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedarbrook Church or to the Rhiel Funeral Home in Ron’s name.
