Dorothy L. Wolf
Dorothy L. Wolf age 89 of Menomonie died Wednesday October 26, 2016 at Country Terrace in Menomonie. Dorothy was born December 5, 1926 in the Township of Eau Galle. She was the daughter of Paul and Delia (Samuel) Schroeder. After leaving home, Dorothy worked in Spring Valley and the Twin Cities, MN. She married Joseph R. Wolf on November 8, 1949 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle. After marriage they farmed in Eau Galle for several years. In 1955, they moved to Menomonie where Dorothy worked at Major’s Dry Cleaners. Dorothy was a homemaker for many years and also helped her husband Joe, with his successful milk hauling business.
Dorothy enjoyed sewing, painting ceramics, cooking, baking and yard work. She also enjoyed walks with her dog, Katie and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for over 60 years and enjoyed being an active member of the P.C.C.W.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Gary (Patti) of Menomonie, her daughter, Debbie (John) Van Hove of Menomonie, four grandchildren, Andy, Jenni and Anna Wolf all of Menomonie, Susan (Jeff) Burton of South Lyon, MI, a great granddaughter, Savannah Burton of Lyon, MI; a sister, Arlene Markey of Eau Galle and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends, including Bill and Julie Zinsli of Menomonie, who often visited her and her dog, Katie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph in 1995, a brother Carl Schroeder, three sisters, Margaret in infancy, Lorraine Schroeder and Phyllis DeLong.
Dorothy’s family would like to thank the staff at Country Terrace in Menomonie and Mayo Clinic Home Health & Hospice for all the comforting and loving care for Dorothy.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Monday October 31, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. James Kurzynski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Dorothy to the Dunn County Humane Society.
