Art E. Brenner

Arthur E. “Art” Brenner, age 87 of Eau Galle, died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at his home in Eau Galle.

Art was born on May 21, 1929 in Durand to John and Louise (Spindler) Brenner. He grew up in the Bear Creek area of rural Durand and attended St. Mary’s High School. Art worked on the family farm. He married Anna Marie Bauer on October 3, 1950 at St. Henry’s Church in Eau Galle. After marriage, they rented a farm in the Bear Creek area until they purchased a farm in the Town of Eau Galle, where they farmed and raised their family. Art and Anna Marie sold the farm and built a house in Eau Galle upon retirement. Art continued farming doing custom field work with his nephew, Steve until this past year.

Art enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, bowling, fishing, playing cards and watching and feeding the birds. He also liked watching the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers. Art was an active member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Most of all, Art loved to spend time with family and friends.

Art is survived by six children; Judy (Gary) Anderson of Onalaska, Pat (Tom) Harris of Cornell, Jan (Dan) Schuler of Elmwood, Bob (Sharon) of Menomonie, Ron (Jackie) of LaCrosse and Karen (Dennis) Ring of Lake Hallie, 12 grandchildren; Brent (Lisa) Schuler, Lindsay (Grant) Lander, Bryce Anderson, Kyle Harris, Kurt (Stefanie) Harris, Kayla (Evan) Peissig, Jason and Steven Brenner, Alexa and Joe Brenner, Whitney and Tyler Pilgrim, five great grandchildren; Addison and Bennett Schuler, Blake Lander, Mia Harris and Mason Peissig, one sister; Lorraine Forster of Chippewa Falls, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Anna Marie, three sisters and four brothers.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 21, 2016 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle with Rev. Jerry Hoeser officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will from 4-8 PM Thursday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

    While it is certainly sad to learn that you’re mourning the loss of your dear Art, it saddens our God even more. No doubt, you have many fond memories which will resurface at times. And because you do have memories, certainly shows that almighty God has memories as well. Therefore, with full confidence you can take comfort in knowing that He will forever end death and will restore perfect life to all those in his memory (Rev. 21:3, 4, John 5:28,29).
