Darlene K. Milliren
Darlene K. Milliren, age 84 of Arkansaw, died peacefully Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at her home in Arkansaw.
Darlene was born on November 30, 1931 in Eau Galle. She was the daughter of Ernest and Blanche (Baskin) Weber. Darlene grew up in Eau Galle, she attended Hay Creek Country School and graduated from Durand High School. Darlene married Bernard Milliren on August 29, 1950 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle. After marriage, they farmed and raised their family in the Town of Waterville, rural Arkansaw. Darlene was a member of the Pepin County Homemakers Association and a group leader in 4-H. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Arkansaw, singing in the choir and serving with the St. Ann’s Altar Society.
Darlene enjoyed her Wednesday morning coffee group with the ladies. She liked traveling with Bernard, taking trips all over the United States. Darlene enjoyed crocheting, square dancing, cooking, baking and gardening. Most of all, Darlene loved to spend time with family and friends.
Darlene is survived by her six children; Marcia (Patrick) Bauer of Durand, Steve (friend, Terry Krause) of Plum City, Dennis of Arkansaw, Kathy (Mike) Weisenbeck of Durand, Pat (Randy) Radle of Menomonie and Mary (Felix) Berger of Arkansaw, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Bernard and three brothers; Fred, Harold and Donald Weber.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, August 6, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Arkansaw with Rev. Paul G. Czerwonka officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Friday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
