Joyce A. Hartung
Joyce A. Hartung, age 60 of Elmwood, died Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Menomonie with her loving husband and family by her side.
Joyce was born on March 1, 1956 in Baldwin. She was the daughter of Raymond and Shirley (Bennett) Holerud. Joyce grew up in the Town of Cady, rural Spring Valley and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1974. After high school, Joyce attended Indianhead Technical College in New Richmond and became a CNA. Joyce worked for a short while at the Spring Valley Care Center and then took a job at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie. Joyce married William “Bill” Hartung on November 15, 1980 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle. After marriage they farmed in the Elmwood area and Joyce continued to work at the Dunn County Health Care Center. Joyce retired in March of 2011 after 36 years of dedicated work to the Dunn County Health Care Center.
Joyce enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, cooking, quilting, sewing, crocheting and bowling. Joyce enjoyed going on cruises and going to Mexico with her husband Bill. Most of all Joyce loved to spend time with family and friends.

of Menomonie, two brothers; Cecil Holerud of Menomonie and Charles Holerud of New Richmond, brothers and sisters-in-law; Susan Hood and Donna (Paul) Most, both of Prescott, Peggy (Don Fedie) Gilles of Plum City, Connie (Rich) Helfenstein of Leonard, MN, Edward (Elaine) Hartung of Menomonie, Charles Hartung of Eau Galle, Carolyn (Ron) Kannel of Elmwood, Bruce Hartung of Spring Valley, Rose (Andy) Rudesill of Baldwin, Paul Hartung of Elmwood, Dan (Brenda) Hartung of Elmwood and Amy (Jim) Horn of Prescott, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father; Raymond Holerud, father and mother-in-law; Wayne and Delores Hartung and her Goddaughter; Jessica “Buckwheat” Hartung.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 30, 2016 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle with Rev. Jerry Hoeser officiating. Burial will be in the Weber Valley Cemetery, rural Elmwood. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Friday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
