Rosemarie Blanchard
Rosemarie (Wolf) Blanchard, age 88 of Durand, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand with her husband by her side.
Rosemarie was born on February 12, 1928 in Durand. She was the daughter of William E. and Blanche C. (Fox) Wolf. Rosemarie grew up in Durand and attended school in Durand. She then went to Viterbo College in La Crosse and earned a degree in music. Rosemarie taught music in several schools including courses at Viterbo and earned her Master’s Degree in Music at UW-Madison. She then attended Pitt University in Pittsburgh, Pa and earned a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Counseling. Rosemarie then took a job at St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh as a counselor. Rosemarie married Raymond Blanchard on December 27, 1972 at Holy Angel’s Catholic Church in Minneapolis, MN. After marriage, they continued to live and work in the Pittsburgh area. In retirement, Rosemarie worked with the Lutheran Health Services in Mars, PA. After Ray’s retirement, they moved to Durand to be closer to their family.
Rosemarie loved to garden, cook, bake, paint with watercolors and crochet. She and Ray enjoyed travelling the world together.
Rosemarie will be remembered by her husband of 44 years; Ray, nieces; Susan Wolf of Durand and Mary (Craig) Johanns of Eagan, nephews; William M. (Kandace) Wolf of Gig Harbor, WA and Karl (Jess) Wolf of Minneapolis, several great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Robert Wolf and William C. (Carol) Wolf.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand with Rev. Paul Bosco officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Thursday.
