Sharon I. Fetzer
Sharon I. Fetzer, age 74 of Plum City, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 10, 2016 at home in rural Plum City.
Sharon was born on March 16, 1942 in Durand. She was the daughter of Warren and Evelyn (Thompson) Alme. Sharon grew up in the Norwegian Valley of rural Urne and graduated from Durand High School in 1959. After high school, Sharon moved to Minneapolis and worked for Hartford Insurance Company for several years. Sharon married James Fetzer on November 30, 1963 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand. After marriage, they lived in Ellsworth and started their family. In 1970, Sharon and Jim moved their family to a farm in Grange Hall, where she remained the rest of her life. Sharon worked as a waitress for many years in Plum City and Durand.
Sharon enjoyed shopping, cooking, baking, ceramics and interior decorating. She was known for her sense of humor and generous, caring nature. Sharon enjoyed being a housewife and raising her family.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 52 years; Jim, three children; Shelly (Sam) Talbert of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Tim and Mike (Angie), both of Pepin, eight grandchildren; Hayden, Taylor, Matthew, Jason, Dylan, Devin, Austin and Alexa, three great grandchildren; David, Daniel and Levi, two sisters; Nancy (Bob) Waldock of Stillwater, MN and Jane (Bob) Schauls of Durand, Goddaughter; Heather Weissinger, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son; James Warren Fetzer and brother; Tom Alme.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Plum City Evangelical Free Church in Plum City with Rev. Philip Bloomdahl officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Tuesday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the Church on Wednesday.
