Emma Jean Bauman

Emma Jean Bauman, age 90 of Durand, died peacefully on February 23, 2016 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City with her family by her side.

Emma Jean was born on March 11, 1925 to William and Emma (Stickney) Noel. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1943 and married Robert Halbeib in 1945. Together they had three children and later divorced. Emma Jean owned and operated the Naborhood Bakery in Chippewa Falls until 1966. She married Robert Bauman and together they owned the Durand Bakery until 1987 when she sold the business to her daughter and son-in-law. For the last 11 years, Emma Jean has been a resident of the Oakview Care Center in Durand and the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.

Emma Jean is survived by her children; Tom Halbleib of Altoona, Bob Halbleib of Brooklyn and Darlene (Bob) Bogert of Durand, seven grandchildren; Marty (Robyn) Munson, Shelly (Mike) Barker, Debbie (Pete Larson) Bogert, Chris (Erica) Halbleib, Lisa Nieth, Scott (Mary) Halbleib and Angie (Brian) Murphy, 15 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death her parents, her husband Robert, one brother Billy Noel and two sisters; Donna Clifton and Betty Keyes.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Emma Jean’s name to the Plum City Care Center Activity Fund at the Plum City Care Center.
