Janice F. Sabelko
Janice F. Sabelko, age 78 of Durand, died Friday, January 1, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire.
Janice was born on September 28, 1937 in Eau Claire. She was the daughter of Richard and Ruby (St. Clair) Vorce, she grew up in Eau Claire and graduated from Memorial High School in 1957. After high school, Janice worked for S.S. Kresge Department store in downtown Eau Claire. Janice married Ralph Sabelko on December 28, 1958 in St. James the Great Catholic Church in Eau Claire. After marriage, together Janice and Ralph moved to Town of Canton rural Buffalo County where they farmed and raised their family of five daughters. They continued farming until retiring in 2002 when they built a new home in the Town of Lima, rural Durand on the Bear Creek, where she remained the rest of her life.
Janice enjoyed quilting, sewing and sharing her crafts with family and friends. She liked having fun while playing cards and teasing her opponents. Most of all, Janice loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her husband of 57 years; Ralph, children; Cindy (Randy) Brion, of Ozark, MO, Carolyn (Bob) Ambuhl of Gallatin, TN, Chris (Jim) Rud, Brenda (Chuck) Seyforth, and Vicki (Rod) Bloom, all of Mondovi, 10 grandchildren; Stephanie (Dan), Sami (Wade), Andrew, Amanda (Zac), David (Special Friend Dani), Amber (Fiance Erich), Danielle, Alexandria, Jason and Austin, six great grandchildren, one brother; Buddy (Charlene) Edwards of Florida, nieces, nephews, other realtives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother; Louis Gireaux.
Memorial Services will be 11:30 AM Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima Durand with Rev. Al Jakubowski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Monday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
