Jeffrey L. Bauer
Jeffrey L. Bauer, age 67 of Rock Falls, died Thursday, November 19, 2015 at his home in Rock Falls.
Jeff was born on April 24, 1948 in Durand. He was the son of Benedict L. and Emma L. (Bauer) Bauer. He grew up in the Lima area and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Lima. After high school, Jeff attended UW-Stevens Point for conservation. While there, he met his wife Kathleen Lepak. They were married on November 14, 1970 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Jeff took a job with Uniroyal Tire in Eau Claire. He worked there until the factory closed. Jeff worked various jobs in the area before retiring.
Jeff had a passion for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and collecting guns and knives. He also was big into conservation. Jeff shared his passion for the outdoors with everybody, especially his brothers and nephew. He was very kind and went out of his way to help people in need. Jeff liked Rock N’ Roll most of all, the Rolling Stones. Most of all, Jeff loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his two grandchildren.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Kathy, one daughter; Lisa (Michael) Shields of Hammond, two grandchildren; Ellie Kathleen and Alex Jeffrey, three brothers; Lester (Rita), Kevin, and Brent (Christine), all of Durand, one sister; Kelly (DJ) Pophal of Durand, his cat; TicTac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-8 PM Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand with a short Prayer Service at 7:30 PM.
