Mamie M. Weber

Mamie M. Weber age 100 of Elmwood died Monday October 5, 2015 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home in Elmwood.

Mamie was born February 21, 1915 in the Township of Weston, Dunn County.  She was the daughter of Charles and Emma (Sievert) Seipel and grew up on the home farm.  She married Carl W. Weber June 4, 1936 in the Zion Lutheran Church in the Township of Eau Galle.  After marriage they farmed in the Weber Valley, rural Elmwood until Carl’s death in 1968.  Mamie continued living in the Weber Valley area and worked at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and the American Lutheran Home until retirement.  After retirement Mamie moved into Elmwood where she has remained the rest of her life.  For the past five years, Mamie has been a resident of the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home.

Mamie enjoyed being a member of the Weber Valley Homemakers and gardening.  She was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid, where she served as an Officer, the Lutheran Women’s Mission Society and the Dunn County Office on Aging.  She also served as President of the Resident Council at the Heritage of Elmwood of Nursing Home.  Most of all, Mamie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. 

Mamie is survived by her four sons, Roger (Barb) of Elmwood; Gary (Joan) of Eau Claire; Leroy (Geraldine) of Cornell, James (Donna) of Eau Claire; ten grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great­-great grandsons; a brother-in-law, David Dierauer of Menomonie, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, one brother, Herbert Seipel, two sisters, Elaine Dierauer, Lila Smith and a niece Marilyn Hoyt.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday October 9, 2015 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Elmwood with Rev. Timothy Rosenow officiating.  Burial will be in the Weber Valley Cemetery, Township of Eau Galle, rural Elmwood.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Elmwood and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
